ECMC Rehab Behavioral Health Services Receives Grant from Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation to be First Hospital in US/Canada to apply New Therapy

Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) Corporation is proud to announce that it has received a $13,534 Quality of Life grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.  The award was one of 75 grants totaling over $600,137 awarded by the Reeve Foundation to nonprofit organizations nationwide that provide more opportunities, access, and daily quality of life for individuals living with paralysis, their families, and caregivers.  Conceived by the late Dana Reeve, the program has awarded over 2,400 grants totaling over $18 million since 1999.

ECMC recognized/featured by NYS Dept. of Health for Zero Infections

Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) Corporation today announced the New York State Department of Health (DOH) has recognized and featured ECMC in the State “Hospital-Acquired Infections” report recently published pertaining to the year 2013, for the ECMC Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) success in reducing Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSIs) to zero.

Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) Corporation today announced that its Immunodeficiency Services Department recently received formal certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) designating the service as a Patient Center Medical HomeTM (PCMHTM)* - Level 3 on Achievement of Recognition for Systematic use of Patient-Centered, Coordinated Care Management Processes.

ECMC Rehab Services hosts its First Annual Rehab Symposium

On Saturday, October 25th, The Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) and the ECMC Lifeline Foundation held its first "Rehab Symposium: A Multidisciplinary Approach to the Acute Care Patient”. For the inaugural conference, many of the department’s experienced clinicians were invited to speak on a variety of topics pertaining to rehabilitation on the acute services. The symposium idea was spurred by a lack of quality local continuing education courses for physical, occupational, and speech therapist that specialize in acute care.

ECMC Wound Care Symposium features distinguished Wound Care Specialist Dr. David G. Armstrong as key note speaker

On Saturday, September 20th, the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) and the ECMC Lifeline Foundation held its third annual “Wound Care Symposium: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Wound Healing.”  This year, ECMC was able to arrange for distinguished wound care specialist Dr. David G. Armstrong to address some 100 clinicians in attendance during this conference.
