Nervous System/Neurology/Neurosurgery

The Department of Neurology provides complete outpatient and inpatient neurodiagnostic and medical therapy for patients with diseases of the nervous and neuromuscular systems. Diagnostic capabilities include such nervous and neuromuscular system tests as electroencephalography (EEG: the recording of electrical currents of the brain), EEG video monitoring, sleep studies and nerve conduction (transmission of an impulse along a nerve fiber).

Surgery of the Brain and Nervous System (Neurosurgery)

Neurosurgery services at ECMC include emergency room consultations and immediate care for severely injured patients, surgery and daily intensive care services. The entire team works closely with the trauma team and the nurses and physicians in the intensive care unit.
