Race registration is now open for 40th Running of the Subaru Buffalo 4 Mile Chase, an Elmwood Village Summer Tradition!
Friday, July 21, 2023…the social event of the summer. The Subaru Buffalo 4 Mile Chase is more than a run; it’s a signature event on Elmwood Avenue at Bidwell Parkway.
Over 1,400 runners from age 7-82 from around the world are expected to participate. Supporters and additional visitors will fill the Elmwood Village and join in the fun of watching world class athletes compete while enjoying live entertainment in a family friendly atmosphere. Over the past 38 years, runners have participated from all 50 states and 30 foreign countries.

Pay toll – Continue on thruway (Do not go towards Niagara Falls) Exit 51W (Route 33 West) to 198 – 198 to Elmwood South Exit – Stay on Elmwood to Bidwell Parkway.
From the Peace Bridge
Left on Porter to Richmond – Left on Richmond to West Utica to Elmwood – Left on Elmwood to Bidwell Parkway.

Course
Rectangular – Out & Back – USA Track & Field Sanctioned – NY87016BT. Starting and Finishing on Bidwell near Elmwood.
Splits
Every mile.
Water
At the 1-mile mark on Delaware Avenue, beyond the 2-mile mark near the Red Cross on Summer Street, and at the 3-mile mark at the Casa Di Pizza on Elmwood Avenue and Hodge Street.
Weather
The weather traditionally is very warm. Take plenty of water before, during and after the race.

Bandits
Numbers must be worn on the front of your shirt or shorts. Bandits will be escorted off the course by trained bandit catchers. Do not switch numbers.
Awards & Prizes
Age Group Awards – DEEP!
The Buffalo Subaru 4-mile chase will be presenting awards in the following age groups based on the number of entries in each age group. In addition, $50.00 will be awarded to the age group winners starting with the 20-24 age group category (United States and Canadian born only).
Male and Female
7-9, 10-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-over.
Couples Division
M/F – 1st $50. Places 2-7 will receive non-cash awards.
Kids Races
A special FREE Kids Race for boys & girls in 3 divisions (5-6yr. olds, 75 yards; 7-8yr. olds, 100 yards; 9-10yr. olds, 150 yards) will begin at 6pm. Fill out and mail registration form to enter your child.
