Biography

Dr. Yuri Bychkov is proud to join ECMC as an interventional pain physician, bringing advanced training and a patient-centered approach to care. Dr. Bychkov returns to Buffalo after several years away, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep appreciation for the city where his academic journey began. A graduate of the University at Buffalo, he is grateful for the opportunity to return to a community that played a formative role in his early education.

Dr. Bychkov completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Albany Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine at the University of Rochester. There, he trained under leading experts in the field, gaining proficiency in the latest evidence-based approaches to the treatment of chronic pain. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in clinical research and has held faculty appointments at several academic medical centers, where he has mentored medical trainees in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is dual board certified in both specialties.

Dr. Bychkov is committed to a patient-centered model of care, integrating advanced interventional techniques with a strong emphasis on improving functional outcomes and quality of life. He remains deeply engaged in advancing the field of pain management and is dedicated to the development of innovative therapies that restore health and well-being.  He is excited to join ECMC in its mission to provide compassionate, comprehensive care and looks forward to serving the Western New York Community with dedication and expertise.
