Biography

Dr. Peter Martin is a psychiatrist at the Regional Behavioral Health Center of Excellence at ECMC, where he specializes in forensic psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry.

In addition to his role at ECMC, Dr. Peter Martin is a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He also participates in the supervision and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Dr. Martin has worked in a variety of settings requiring expertise in the intersections between psychiatry and the law, offering treatment and evaluation in both youth and adult correctional systems.

Board certified in general, child and adolescent, and forensic psychiatry, Dr. Peter Martin completed a joint program through the University at Buffalo, obtaining both a medical degree and a Master in Public Health. From there, he completed his general psychiatry residency while simultaneously participating in the American Psychiatric Associationʼs Public Psychiatry Fellowship. He also completed fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Rochester.
