Biography

Dr. DiGiacomo’s academic interests include medical student education on the adolescent unit at the Erie County Medical Center, where he supervises general psychiatry residents, child psychiatry fellows and medical students.  He coordinates medical student education in psychiatry with Dr. Charles Camp, the director of medical student education. 

Dr. DiGiacomo’s clinical interests include family therapy, suicide prevention, and acute management of adolescent psychiatric illness, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.  He works exclusively as an inpatient psychiatrist on the adolescent unit at ECMC. 

Dr. DiGiacomo has completed research on patient perceptions of their physicians.  His upcoming research project will focus on understanding the needs of adolescents who identify as transgender or non-binary.
