Biography
Dr. Frank Chen leads the Department of Pathology at ECMC and is a full-time pathologist working across Kaleida Health affiliated hospitals and labs. He is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and cytopathology. After earning his MD from Beijing Medical University, Dr. Chen completed a PhD at Mount Sinai Medical Center, followed by postdoctoral research at Harvard University. He then completed a pathology residency at Tufts University and fellowships in oncologic pathology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and molecular cytopathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 2012, after 4 years of part-time study, he obtained his MBA degree from George Washington University School of Business. Dr. Chen’s management experience includes leadership roles as Medical Directors in 3 different labs at Quest Diagnostics, Director of Cytopathology for Kaleida Health, and President of Western New York Society of Pathologists. Over the course of his career in medicine, he has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers. Currently, he also serves as Clinical Associate Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
