Biography
As a mental health specialist, Dr. Daniel Antonius conducts psychological evaluations and works with patients to address clinical and forensic issues, including emotional problems, cognitive issues and competency. He has deep expertise in a variety of mental health issues, and uses social-psychological-physiological methods to help patients overcome psychological and emotional problems. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Daniel Antonius also teaches in the Department of Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biological Sciences and is director of the Division of Forensic Psychiatry. Dr. Daniel Antonius focuses his research on the neurobiological, behavioral, and societal factors that underlie human emotions, aggression and impulsivity, and encourages his students to do the same. His work has been recognized with a variety of awards for his academic and clinical work, including the Young Investigator Award from the International Congress on Schizophrenia Research and the American Psychological Foundation’s Pearson Early Career Grant Award.
