Biography

In his role at ECMC, Dr. Thomas Duquin treats conditions of the musculoskeletal (bone and muscle) system, including trauma effects, acute injuries, and degenerative conditions.

Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Thomas Duquin, who is also a staff member of UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, focuses his practice on shoulder and elbow surgery, with special expertise in the management of rotator cuff disorders and arthritis of the shoulder and elbow.

As Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University at Buffalo, he is responsible for overseeing clinical rotations, mentoring medical students, and is also actively involved in resident training and evaluations. His research interests include shoulder replacement surgery, and includes multiple studies of new technology in shoulder arthroplasty and the role of the rotator cuff in shoulder arthroplasty.

Among many honors over the course of his orthopedic career, Dr. Thomas Duquin has been named Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, received the Cassagrande Award, and received the Dr. Benjamin and Lila Obletz Prize for Outstanding Performance in Orthopedic Surgery.
