are also available through SPD and it is recommended that units have a regular and bariatric size to use when transferring and ambulating with patients.
We are currently working through storage concerns for the sit-to-stand mechanical lifts and full mechanical  oor lifts for the units throughout ECMCC prior to purchase. Meetings are underway to  nalize plans for ceiling lifts at Terrace View.
We are looking for at least two staff members from each  oor/ area to be Safe Patient Champions. If you are interested, please contact your manager.
We have made strides in the development of the Safe Patient Handling (SPH) Program over the past year. Training for existing employees at ECMCC is almost complete while New Hire training for both ECMC and Terrace View is ongoing. The SPH Committee continues to meet monthly to collaborate on the progression of the program as well as discuss the challenges the staff face and problem solve solutions. The Pink Slips, non- friction device used for repositioning and laterally transferring patients, are available in SPD and should be utilized throughout ECMCC. Purple non-friction sheets are available through SPD at Terrace View for the same purpose. Gait belts
