Markita Mack, BSN, RN, has been selected for a full-time Nursing Care Coordinator position. In 2003, Markita graduated cum laude from D’Youville College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her nursing career at ECMC as a medical surgical nurse on the 7th oor. Markita displayed excellent leadership skills which lead to her promotion to a charge nurse role. She transferred to the Trauma ICU where she worked as a staff nurse caring for critical care patients for more than 6 years.
In 2007, Markita accepted a position at a busy Ambulatory Surgery Center and in 2011 was promoted to Nurse Manager of the pre-and post-op areas. While in that position, she supervised and directed the activities associated with those areas while collaborating with the Anesthesia Department.
While working at the ambulatory surgery center, she continued to work perdiem at ECMC in the TICU and in her NCC role. Since 2013, Markita has now transitioned into her full-time role as a NCC this past January.
Markita is an active member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. (AACN)
Jeremy Hepburn, BSN, RN, began his career at ECMC in 1988, caring for patients as a hospital aide in the Medical/ Surgical and Behavioral Health areas and working in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program as a Mental Health Worker. After completing his Associates Degree in 1994 to become an RN, he spent many years in Med-Surg on the Step-down unit 12zone3, as well as ICU Nursing in both the Coronary Care and Medical ICU. As a charge nurse on 12z3, Jeremy participated in the National “Transforming Care at
the Bedside” initiative, assisting in the implementation of new innovations and improved processes in patient care at ECMC. In 2010, he obtained his BSN in Nursing through Roberts Wesleyan College and later served as the Unit Manager on
8 zone 1 for four years before assuming his current role as a Nursing Care Coordinator. Jeremy is a member of the Academy of Med-Surg Nurses Association and is a Certi ed Med-Surg RN. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors as much as possible- hunting, shing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
