Dr. Jill N. Tirabassi is a family medicine physician at the ECMC Family Health Center. She specializes in primary care sports medicine and is also board certified in general preventive medicine and public health. In her clinical practice, she enjoys partnering with patients in their health journey and utilizing lifestyle medicine approaches including physical activity and nutrition.
In addition, Dr. Tirabassi is a K12 Faculty Scholar and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Previously, she was a faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Dr. Tirabassi has a passion for research and education. She started the chapter and became local editor of Family Physicians Inquiry Network at UMass Health Alliance Fitchburg Family Practice, where she also lead a chapter of Walk With a Doc to promote physical activity in her clinic staff and in her patients. She has assisted teaching graduate and medical students in epidemiology as well as training medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical care within family and sports medicine. An active researcher, Dr. Tirabassi has made presentations and published several articles related to her fields. Her current research aims to prevent chronic disease through improvements in physical and nutritional environments as well as through partnerships in the community.
Dr. Tirabassi’s honors and awards include: Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Delta Omega Honor Society, both from University of Massachusetts – Amherst; Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Dr. and Mrs. Earl J. Kelsey Memorial Endowment Award for outstanding performance in family medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University; and serving as Chief Resident during both of her residencies.
