Dr. Sharma is a surgeon specializing in abdominal organ transplantation, both adult and pediatric, including liver, kidney, pancreas, intestine and multivisceral transplantation, auto islet transplantation, laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and donor organ procurement procedures. He is also trained in complex hepatobiliary surgery and surgery for portal hypertension in children, including Meso-Rex shunts. Dr. Sharma is a former Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Transplant Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and a Clinical Fellow in Transplantation Surgery at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and at the University of Virginia. His keen interest in clinical research includes the search for new biomarkers for predicting pancreas allograft rejection. He is also studying the immune response to BK virus infection in kidney transplant recipients and clinical outcomes in abdominal organ transplantation.

Dr. Su earned her medical degree at Queen’s University and served a residency in internal medicine at the University of British Columbia. She held a fellowship in nephrology at McMaster University and is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Su has conducted extensive research in nephrology and has published journal articles on hemodialysis and other studies. She was awarded several prestigious scholarships for study and research at Queen’s University and the University of Toronto. Dr. Su is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Society of Nephrology, and the Canadian Medical Association.
