Dr. Aijaz A. Gundroo is a leading member of the nephrology clinical staff at ECMC’s Regional Center of Excellence for Transplantation and Kidney Care. Dr. Gundroo is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Medical Association, and the Medical Council of India. Dr. Gundroo is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Nephrology Department at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biological Sciences where he became a Nephrology Fellow. He is also Director of Dialysis at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden, New York. Dr. Gundroo served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Sisters of Charity Hospital, where he also performed his Internal Medicine Residency. He earned an M.B.B.S. at Kashmir University-Government Medical College Srinagar, Kashmir, India. Dr. Gundroo has served as primary and sub-investigator in numerous research studies pertaining to kidney transplant recipients and is also well-published as lead/co-author regarding renal transplantation. Dr. Gundroo is fluent in five languages including English, Kashmiri, Hindi, Urdu, and Arabic.
