State-of-the-Art Digital Cardiac Catheterization Labs

ECMC is pleased to announce the opening of two new state-of-the-art digital cardiac catheterization (cath) labs. Currently, the labs use the latest technology to deliver the highest-quality images and the most efficient storage and retrieval of images available in Western New York. For special needs, one cath lab table can hold a patient weighing up to 440 lbs. The lab also features a comfortable and spacious review station for physicians and a system storage capacity of 15,000 cases, allowing for greater ease and convenience.

The ECMC cardiac catheterization labs are housed in a newly renovated area on the Medical Center's first floor dedicated to cardiac care services. Patients and visitors are greeted by a new, comfortable waiting area. EKG, ECHO, and other non-invasive diagnostic testing is conducted adjacent to the labs. A private consultation-viewing room is located off the waiting area, allowing physicians to privately review angiographic findings with patients' families.
