Medical and Dental Premiums

The Emblem Health dental premiums did not change.   The medical premiums for 2023 did change and the applicable rates are provided on the ECMC Intranet under Human Resources.  The CSEA EBF premiums for CSEA employees are also provided on the ECMC Intranet under Human Resources.

Medical Insurance Updates

Blue Cross and Blue Shield is now Highmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Regardless if you are making any changes to your medical insurance, all employees will receive new medical insurance cards in the mail for the 2023 plan year. Be sure to bring your new Highmark BCBS card with you to your doctors appointments in the 2023 calendar year.

Dental Insurance Updates

CSEA Employee Benefit Fund (CSEA EBF) will be the new provider for dental insurance for all CSEA employees. CSEA members who require dental insurance MUST enroll into the new dental plan through Self-Service during Open Enrollment.  Dental Enrollment will not be automatically transferred from Emblem Health to CSEA dental. All CSEA employees will have the Emblem Health dental plan cancelled effective December 31, 2022.

Emblem Health will remain the dental provider for all AFSCME, NYSNA and MC employees.

Flexible Spending Accounts

The IRS determines how much individuals are able to contribute to flexible spending accounts each year. The 2023 limits for the Medical Flexible Spending account will increase from $2,750 to $2,850. The limits for both Dependent Care Flexible Spending and Individual Premium Reimbursement Accounts will remain at $5,000.

457(b) Maximum Contribution Limits

The IRS limits how much employees can contribute to the 457(b) plans each year. The 2023 limits will be provided upon issuance by the IRS.
