Dental Insurance Options
AFSCME, NYSNA and MC Employees have the option between the following plans:
- Standard Plan
- Buy-Up Plan

- CSEA Members who wish to enroll into dental coverage must enroll into the CSEA EBF.
Dependent Coverage
Dependent children on the Emblem Health dental plans can remain on your dental insurance until the end of the year in which the child turns 19 (Standard dental plan) or 23 (Buy-Up dental plan). You will receive COBRA paperwork through our third party administrator, P&A group, in the mail providing you with the option to continue their coverage at the full premium.
Dependent children on the CSEA EBF dental plan can remain on your insurance until the end of the month in which your child turns 26. You will receive COBRA paperwork from CSEA’s COBRA provider in the mail providing you with the option to continue their coverage upon aging off.
2024 Dental Insurance Rates
Dental premiums rates are subject to change annually on April 1st. The employee responsibility of the premiums is negotiated by your collective bargaining agreement if you’re in a union position or by ECMCC policy if you are Management Confidential (MC). The Emblem Health dental premiums for 2023/2024 did not change. The Emblem Health dental premiums and CSEA EBF premiums for CSEA members are available on ECMC Intranet.

The Emblem Health Dental Member Portal provides you a number of key tools:
- Treatment Estimates: EmblemHealth leverages Truven Health Analytics’ Treatment Cost Calculator to provide this tool to members through our Member Portal.
- Deductible and Out-of-Pocket Accumulators: EmblemHealth provides this as a comprehensive tool through the Member Portal.
- Network Provider Quality: EmblemHealth has a Provider Search tool which includes the display of whether the provider listed is preferred or not.
- Modeling of Plan Options: This is provided on our website, supported on the backend by Wellthie, our vendor partner that pulls the plan information.
- Status of Claims: Claim details can be supported through the Member Portal.
- Benefit Brochure and ID Cards: These items are displayed through the Member Portal.
CSEA members can also access information regarding their CSEA EBF dental plan through the CSEA Member Portal.
