BUFFALO, NEW YORK; May 30, 2007 - ECMC recently received a bronze in the 2007 Aster Awards for the hospital's "350 Hearts" magazine advertisement. The Aster Awards program provides national recognition for healthcare organizations and advertising agencies who strive for excellence in medical marketing.
Designed by Senior Art Director Greg Meadows and written by Senior Copywriter Mike Gluck of ECMC's agency of record, Stand Advertising, the ad features 350 hearts lined up in rows, announcing ECMC's 350th emergency cardiac intervention. It was the only local award recipient among almost three-thousand entrants in the Aster Awards program, in which similarly sized organizations compete from across the nation.
"As a new corporation, it is gratifying to know that ECMC's new business-like marketing approach can compete with other national-class hospitals," said Thomas Quatroche, PhD, ECMC's senior vice president of marketing and planning. "It is all part of the ECMC turnaround and our efforts to focus the public's attention on our quality of care."
Entries were judged on creativity, layout/design, typography, knowledge transfer and overall quality. ECMC's winning advertisement is featured in the May/June 2007 issue of Marketing Healthcare Today.
The ECMC Corporation includes an advanced academic medical center (ECMC) with 550 inpatient beds and 136 skilled-nursing-home beds, on- and off-campus health centers, over 40 outpatient specialty care clinics and the Erie County Home, a 586-bed skilled nursing facility. ECMC is the regional center for trauma, burn care, rehabilitation and is a major teaching facility for the State University of New York at Buffalo. Most ECMC physicians, dentists and pharmacists are dedicated faculty members of the University. Exceptional patient care and customer service make ECMC Western New York's Hospital of Choice.
